TPVP: - Will only collect and/or process our clients personal data for contractual, legal or legitimate interests related to administering your account as a surgery client.

We will only process out clients data in ways that they can reasonably expect and that has minimal privacy impact.

Potential recipients of your personal data include:

  1. External laboratories

  2. Microchip database registrations

  3. Referral veterinary centres

  4. Insurance companies for claims

We will only store sensitive personal data with a clients explicit permission and when it is beneficial to the service we can give that client. For example if a client is hard of hearing we would ask whether an owner minds this information being included on their record.

TPVP will endeavour to ensure your data is kept accurate and up to date. Please inform our reception of any changes.

Personal data will only be retained whilst a client wishes to remain a registered client and as long as it is legally required by HMRC and our liability insurers.

Although the GDPR advises that data is kept for no longer than 7 years , where animals medical records can be relevant over much longer periods of time these are retained by the practice.Should you wish us to delete your data it is your right as a data subject to request this is done.

Your further rights as a data subject;

  1. Right of access. You have a right to request a copy of the information we hold about you.

  2. Right of rectification. You have the right to request that data held on you is corrected if incorrect.

  3. Right to be forgotton.In certain circumstances you have the right to have data erased from our records

  4. Right to restriction of processing.You have the right to restrict the processing of your data.

  5. Right to portability.You have the right to have your data transferred to another organisation

  6. Right to object.You have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing

  7. Right to object to automated processing including profiling although neither is carried out at TPVP
