Written Prescriptions

Written prescriptions are available to all our registered clients whether it be for preventative health care such as flea and worm treatment or for medication for a particular problem. Please make the nurse or vet aware that you would prefer a written prescription.

The cost of a written prescription is £14.50 inclusive of VAT.

Most written prescriptions will last for 6 months. After this we require that your pet is re-examined to make sure that the same medication is still appropriate for the best care of your pet. Please be aware that this is a requirement of the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons and is in place to ensure the welfare of your pet .Medications can have side effects that may not be obvious to owners , also there may be changes to your pets condition that requires their medication to be changed. In certain circumstances more frequent checks between prescriptions may be advised by our vets based on their clinical judgement of your pets medical condition.

Repeat Prescriptions

Please allow at least 72 hours for us to prepare your repeat prescriptions. Although many medications are kept in stock some have to be ordered in.

Repeat prescription requests can be made by phone but preferably by email to paddockvet@btconnect.com

Repeat prescriptions can only be given when a vet has authorised them to be repeated and also for the length of time they have advised before your pets next check up.

If ordered by email, you will receive an email reply informing you when your prescription will be ready for collection and the invoice amount. This can be paid by BACS if you prefer to save time when you collect your medications  or on collection at the surgery.

Please Note.Due to Veterinary Medicines Regulations once medications have left the surgery we regret that they cannot be returned and refunded.
We can however dispose on unused drugs on your behalf.
